Shanil provides tailored legal services to clients in the Greater Toronto Area. His practice includes wills and estates and representation before the Consent and Capacity Board.
Shanil obtained his J.D. from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020. Prior to going to law school, he studied philosophy at McGill University in Montreal. He began his legal career at a top 10 plaintiff-side litigation firm before spending one year as a lawyer for an insurance company. Shanil has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Licence Appeal Tribunal.
Shanil volunteers his time at the Pro Bono Ontario Hotline, where he answers questions about civil litigation and estates matters. Shanil is a member of the Advocates' Society, the Ontario Bar Association, the South Asian Bar Association, and the Estate Planning Council of Canada. He is also an Associate Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Katrina practices charity and not-for-profit law. She specializes in matters affecting voluntary sector organizations including corporate governance, charitable registration, and regulatory compliance.
Katrina obtained her J.D. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2020. Prior to attending law school, she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts from McGill University. Katrina practiced charity and not-for-profit law at a national law firm for several years prior to co-founding Patel Kairys Law.
Katrina is a director of ACCESS Community Capital Fund, a charity based in Toronto that provides eligible entrepreneurs with microloans and education. Katrina also volunteers her time as a member-at-large of the Ontario Bar Association Charities and Not-for-Profit Law Section Executive and is a director of Young Women in Law, a non-profit that supports women lawyers in their first few years of practice.
Katrina has authored articles in the Estates, Trusts & Pensions Journal, Canadian Tax Foundation Conference Report and Ontario Bar Association Section Insider: Charity and Not-for-Profit Law. Katrina has also co-authored a chapter in The Muttart Foundation’s publication, Intersections and Innovations: Change for Canada’s Voluntary and Nonprofit Sector.
